The GEUS Savvy Consumer Energy Efficiency Program does both - it saves you money while reducing our need to generate more power.

When you sign up for the program, you will get rebates and discounts to help you make changes that save energy.

• How to participate 

Energy Star Appliance Rebate 

• Get rebates of $50 each on the purchase of Energy Star appliances:
  • dishwasher
  • refrigerator
  • electric water heater (EF rating .92 or higher)
• You must be a GEUS customer to be eligible for the rebate(s)
• Rebates are limited to $150 per household or business per year
• Credit is applied to your GEUS account upon receipt of proof(s) of purchase
• Receipt must be submitted within 6 months of purchase date after March 1, 2009
• Approved vendors

Fluorescent Lighting Rebate 

• Get a $1 rebate per bulb on the purchase of Compact Fluorescent Bulbs (CFL)
  • Limit 10 bulbs per year per household or business
  • Credit is applied to your GEUS account upon receipt of proof(s) of purchase
• Get a $5 per bulb rebate for upgrade of fixtures to T8
  • Limit $500 per year per household or business
  • Payment is made to vendor on fixtures
  • Receipt must be submitted within 6 months of purchase date after March 1, 2009
  • Installation by customer must be pre-approved by GEUS
• GEUS will pay the vendor or credit your account upon receipt of invoice.

HVAC Programmable Thermostat Rebate 

• Applies to Honeywell model #RTH6400D or better
• Installation by GEUS approved vendor:
  • $150 cost share - GEUS pays Vendor $120 and Customer pays Vendor $30
• Installation by GEUS consumer:
  • GEUS will pay $45 to consumer toward purchase of thermostat
• Limit $300 per account
• Receipt must be submitted within 6 months of purchase date after March 1, 2009
• You must be a GEUS customer

Electric Water Heater Clock 

• Get a $120 rebate on purchase and installation
• Limit $120 per account
• $150 cost share - GEUS $120, Customer $30
• Work must be performed by licensed electrician from GEUS approved vendor list
• Vendor will be paid on receipt of invoice
• Invoice must be submitted within 6 months of purchase date after March 1, 2009
• You must be a GEUS customer

Attic Insulation 

• Get $0.16 per square foot rebate for up to R49
• $300 limit per account
• Installation must be preformed by a GEUS approved vendor
• Vendor will be paid on receipt of invoice
• Invoice must be submitted within 6 months of purchase date after March 1, 2009
• You must be a GEUS customer

How to participate: 

• Submit a competed application to GEUS and choose from a list of GEUS approved vendors
  • Printable application to mail
  • Online application
• GEUS certifies eligibility and submits a request to the vendor
• Vendor notifies you to set appointment
• Vendor completes work
• You pay the vendor for their share of the service
• Both you and the vendor sign a document certifying the work has been done or purchase made
• Vendor sends (preferably email) documents to GEUS
• GEUS issues checks to vendors monthly
