GEUS Surge Protection Program
Terms & Conditions
1. GEUS reserves the right to enter your property
to install, operate, maintain and/or remove our surge suppressor
equipment at your meter.
2. The meter-based surge suppressor remains the property of GEUS,
and only our employees or representatives may install, operate,
or remove it.
3. If any of the surge suppression products fail while you are covered
by the GEUS Surge Protection Program and a power
surge damages your electronic equipment or appliances protected
by the product, LEA International, the manufacturer will:
a. As necessary, repair or replace (at its option) the suppressor
within a reasonable period of time after you notify us of
the failure.
b. Pay for repair or replacement (at its option) of your
standard electrical or electronic equipment and appliances
damaged because
of the system failure, up to the fair market value of the
equipment/appliance, which shall in no event exceed the
total amount of $5,000 per
appliance, $2 million per home for appliance damage. It
reserves the right
to approve any replacement you choose.
4. The GEUS Surge Protection Program warranty covers
standard electrical and electronic equipment.
Standard electrical equipment is covered by the warranty that accompanies
the Meter-Based Surge Suppressor, and is defined as any indoor appliance
with primarily electrically operated mechanical components, such
as refrigerators, clothes washers, central vacuum systems, conventional
ovens, clothes dryers, heating/air conditioning units, power tools,
coffee machines and other small appliances, and direct-wired spas,
microwave ovens and garage door openers.
In addition to the Meter-Based Surge Suppressor, electronic equipment
must also be properly connected to Plug- in Surge Suppressors in
order to be covered by heir warranty, and are defined as any appliance
with extensive electronic circuitry and components, such as solid-state
televisions, VCRs, modems, CD players/stereo systems, answering
machines, security systems, cable TV tuners, personal computers,
microwave
ovens, electronic game systems, fax machines and word processors.
All equipment must be operated in accordance with manufacturers
specifications. Use of the Plug-in Surge Suppressors with adapters
or extension cords
voids the warranty.
5. You must notify LEA International, through GEUS,
of damage to appliances due to suppressor failure within 30 days
of the failure in order to be eligible for the repair or replacement
benefit. Return any failed plug-in suppressor to GEUS
and it will be forwarded to LEA International for repair or replacement.
6. The warranty does not include medical or life support equipment.
7. If the Safety Surge Protection Plan service is terminated
by either party, and the suppressor is left at your meter,
there is
no liability
related to the suppressor after termination.
8. Except for the LEA International warranty for the GEUS
Surge Protection Program, which provides for the repair or replacement
benefit of the fair market value of the equipment/appliance, in
no event to exceed $5,000 per appliance and $2 million per home
for appliance damage because of a suppressor failure, we disclaim
all liability and make no warranties of any kind to you.
9. The LEA International warranty begins on the date
of installation of your Meter-Based Surge Protector
and plug-in
suppressors.
The warranty remains in effect as long as your lease
payments are current.
Lease payments more than 60 days in arrears will terminate
coverage.
