Cable
TV Online Users Manual
The new on-screen Cable TV guide is here!
Welcome
to the world of GEUS Cable TV!
This online users manual is designed to acquaint you with the operation
of your new cable system. Even if you are not new to cable, you may find
operating your new GEUS system somewhat different from
the procedures you are used to.
The Remote Control
Take a moment to look over the remote control supplied with your cable
box. You may want to print out this diagram (or find the diagram on page
11 of the Motorola DCT 2000 User Guide supplied with the cable box).
We'll
refer to the button numbers on this diagram as we explain the use of
your system.
Remember:
#1 includes
the four buttons across the top, just below the Motorola logo
#6 includes
all four arrow buttons
#14 includes
the group of blue buttons at the bottom of the remote control that
operate your VCR
the numbers
for changing channels are grouped in #11
Note: The cable remote is supplied with 2 AA (1.5 volt)
alkaline batteries. The battery compartment is on the back of the remote.
If your remote stops working, you may need to replace
the batteries.
Your GEUS-supplied Universal Remote Control can control up to
four devices, including GEUS Cable Converters, most TVs and VCRs,
and auxiliary components. The codes for your components were entered
at setup.
If you purchase a new TV or VCR or add additional equipment, you
will need to reprogram your remote control.
Getting Started
The cable box must be turned on to receive the digital channels (above
channel 75). An indicator light to the right of the time display shows
you the box is on. (It's recommended that you leave the cable box turned

When you adjust the volume, a volume scale appears on the TV screen.
Pressing the MUTE button (#15) turns the sound off. The word "MUTE" will

After a few seconds, the information box will disappear. Press EXIT
(#5) at any time to remove the box.

Please Note: This manual, provided by the digital interactive guide's
supplier, refers to a different remote control than the one you are
using.
Please ignore the diagram giving the button locations! The buttons referred
to in the users' manual have the same functions as the buttons on your remote
(menu, guide, etc.), but they appear in different locations in the manual's
diagram.

Help! - Troubleshooting
Hot Tip: pressing the EXIT button (#5) will always return
you to the TV screen!
If the remote doesn't work:
Replace the batteries.
The cable remote is supplied with 2 AA (1.5 volt) alkaline batteries.
The battery compartment is on the back of the remote. If your remote
stops working, you may need to replace the batteries.
- slide the battery door open
- remove the old batteries
- install the new batteries - be sure to match the + and - symbols
on the batteries with the symbols inside the battery compartment
- slide the battery door closed until it snaps into place
If you can't access all of the channels:
You have probably hit the BYPASS button (#12) by mistake.
- press TV (#1)
- change to channel 3
- press BYPASS
- change to the channel you want
If a video you recorded has no sound or the sound is too low:
The volume on the cable box wasn't set high enough when the recording
was made. Turn up the volume on the cable box before
recording. (Unfortunately, there is no way to restore the sound on
a video you have already recorded.)
If you still have a problem:
Please call (903) 457-2800 during office hours, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday
